Fadama Guys planned to stage a protest yesterday, being Monday the 14th August, 2018 for the delay in the disbursement of funds which were supposed to be for GUYS to startup their different farming businesses as sponsored by the World Bank.
Report showed that the police prevailed to shelve the protest due to the tense political atmosphere in the country now, so the youths were stopped in order not to be tagged political and against the govt. or sponsored by the opposition to further cast the govt. in bad light.
UPDATE ON FADAMA GUYS – PROPOSED FADAMA GUYS PROTEST
The Police advised the over 300 GUYS representatives that stormed Abuja in good faith to continue engaging Fadama in dialogue promising them that if FADAMA does not disburse in the next three weeks, they will be allowed to protest.
However, there is a new development coming in from the intervention of Ondo State Governor and the FADAMA GUYS might be disbursed before the expiration of this period.
Additional update on the outcome of the proposed protest showed that the delegates from all the 23 participating States are very happy even to risk whatever it might take provided that guys are disbursed.
The Fadma Guys received outlines on the proposed protest as follows:
1). The Heat was apparent on the Fadama.
2).They scattered police all over the protest ground.
3). FADAMA GUYS are moving ahead of FADAMA officials.
4). The VP and some Governors intervened in the on our predicament.
5). Our VP, The professor Osibanjo summoned our files for immediate signing.
6). Our joy and victory is that our files have been SIGNED UP.
7). Guys must smile within the 3weeks.
8). Special thanks for Ondo State Governor and our Guy, Orioye the Guys sec. Who played a wonderful role for us.
9). The FADAMA GUYS threatened that the worst will happen if and only if…. Please let’s me not complete the sentence… Because we will be disbursed.
10) GUYS wrote to the president and vice president appreciating them for their support…
11). Special appreciation to the leadership of Fadama Guys (Innocent) who has actually faced some heat from top officials but we are strongly behind him.
12). Special thanks to the ladies among us Mama Fadama Rita etc. Plus Guys that came for the protest. I tell you, my people, the nation is really amazed by their comportment and maturity.
This shows that FADAMA GUYS are not boys, rather enterprise men.
