University of Padua Departmental Scholarships for International Students applications are now accepting application. Padua University’s departments offer 50 scholarships for excellent students worldwide to pursue higher education in 2023.
International students can apply for the following Departmental Scholarships to enroll in one of the English-taught degree programs below. Although the Departmental Scholarships do not include tuition fee waivers, they are compatible with the 100 waivers granted to skilled prospective international students. The University of Padua does not cover reimbursement of travel, insurance, accommodation, or other expenses through departmental scholarships.

DICEA – Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering:
DICEA offers two scholarships for the Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and five scholarships for the Master’s degree in Mathematical Engineering. Each scholarship amount is about € 5,000 gross for the recipient.
Each scholarship is only for one academic year, payable in two instalments. The first instalment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy. The second instalment is payable upon obtaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2024.
Department of Cultural Heritage:
This Department offers one (1) scholarship for the English-taught Master’s degree program in Applied Sciences to Cultural Heritage Materials and Sites.
The scholarship amount is about € 7,000 gross for the recipient. Each scholarship is only for one academic year, payable in two instalments. The first instalment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy. The second instalment is payable upon obtaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2024.
Department of Developmental Psychology and Socialisation (DPSS):
DPSS offers two (2) scholarships for the English-taught Master’s degree program in Developmental and Educational Psychology. The total amount of each scholarship is € 6,500 (gross for the recipient).
Each scholarship is only for one academic year, payable in two instalments. The first instalment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy. The second instalment is payable upon gaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2024.
Department of Geosciences:
Department of Geoscience offers three scholarships as follows:
- One (1) scholarship for the Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Climate Dynamics.
- One (1) master’s degree scholarship for the English-taught program in Earth Dynamics
- One (1) scholarship for the Master’s degree in Geophysics for Natural Risks and Resources
Each scholarship values up to € 6,000 (gross for the recipient) for two academic years for Master’s students and three for the Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Climate Dynamics.
The Department pays the scholarship amount in two instalments for each academic year. The first instalment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy. The second instalment is payable upon gaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2024. Also the third is upon gaining at least 40 credits by the end of September 2024. For the Bachelor’s degree applicants in Earth and Climate Dynamics, the scholarship is available for the third year upon gaining at least 90 ECTS by the end of September 2025.
Department of Industrial Engineering (DII):
DII total of six (6) scholarships as follows:
- Chemical and Process Engineering (Two scholarships for Master’s degree)
- Energy Engineering (Two scholarships for Master’s degrees)
- Materials Engineering (Two scholarships for the Master’s degrees)
Each scholarship is worth € 7,500 for one academic year (gross for the recipient). The amounts are payable in two installments. The first installment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy. The second installment is payable upon obtaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2024.
Department of Information Engineering (DEI):
Totally seven (7) scholarships are available in DEI for international students for the current year as follows:
- ICT for Internet and Multimedia Master’s degrees (Two scholarships)
- Two scholarships for Master’s students in Computer Engineering
- Master’s in Control Systems Engineering (Two scholarships)
- For Master’s students in Electronic Engineering (Two scholarships)
- One scholarship for the English-taught Bachelor’s degree in Information Engineering
The total amount for each scholarship is € 6,000 (gross for the recipient). Each scholarship is available for one academic year, payable in two installments. The first installment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy. The second installment is payable upon gaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2024.
Department of Land, Environment, Agriculture and Forestry:
Students will benefit from two (2) scholarships for the Master’s degree in Forest Science. The total amount for each scholarship is € 6,000 (gross for the recipient). Each scholarship is available for one academic year, payable in two installments. The first installment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy. The second installment is payable upon obtaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2024.
Department of Mathematics (DM):
Department of Mathematics scholarship details under the University of Padua Departmental Scholarships are as follows:
- Cybersecurity: 2 scholarships (Master’s degree);
- Data Science: 2 scholarships (Master’s degree);
- Computational Finance:: 2 scholarships (Master’s degree);
- Computer Science: 2 scholarships (Master’s degree);
- Master’s degree in Mathematics 2 scholarships.
The total amount for each scholarship is € 6,000 (gross for the recipient). Each scholarship is available for one academic year, payable in two installments. The first installment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy. The second installment is payable upon obtaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2024. To receive the two second-year installments, recipients should gain a minimum of 40 ECTS by the end of September 2024 and 60 ECTS by the end of March 2025.
Department of Medicine (DIMED):
DIMED offers one (1) scholarship for the current year Single-cycle degree in Medicine and Surgery. The total amount for each scholarship is € 6,000 (gross for the recipient). Each scholarship is available for one academic year, payable in two installments. The first installment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy. The second installment is payable upon obtaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2024.
FISPPA – Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education, and Applied Psychology:
FISPPA offers two scholarships for Master’s students in Clinical, Social, and Intercultural Psychology under the University of Padua Departmental Scholarships. The total amount for each scholarship is € 6,000 (gross for the recipient). Each scholarship is available for one academic year and is payable in three installments as follows:
- The first installment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy.

Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies (DISLL):

Admission Requirements
University of Padua Departmental Scholarships eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Bachelor’s or Single-cycle degree applicants should hold a non-Italian upper secondary school certificate or a non-Italian Bachelor’s degree to access Master’s degree programs;
- Should not be a citizen of Italy, but those with dual citizenship, including Italian;
- Must not already reside in Italy, but the following applicants to be residing in Italy:
- Non-EU citizens holding a valid residence permit allowing enrolment at an Italian university;
- EU citizens and applicants who have resided continuously in Italy for longer than nine months.
- Citizens of Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, the Republic of San Marino, and Switzerland are the same as EU citizens.
- Applicants should apply for one or more English-taught degree programs of the University of Padua by the deadlines. Applicants can even apply for three-degree programs.
University of Padua Departmental Scholarships Selection Procedure
Each degree program has an Academic Committee that shortlists eligible applicants and awards scholarships to excellent candidates. The Committee considers applicants’ academic excellence in their field of study, quality, and records from their primary education.
Applicants can check the scholarship selection results on the University of Padua’s official website by the above dates. If applicants score the same number, priority goes to the youngest candidate and those applying for the first time. In this case, the University reserves scholarships for candidates of the second application period on an exceptional basis.
