Eligibility for the University of Houston
- All nationalities of different countries are eligible to apply for a merit scholarship.
- All courses are offered by the university.
- Students must have high academic results to be eligible and admitted to the University. At the time of application, undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credits. Graduate students must obtain a minimum grade of 9 credits to be eligible to apply for the University of Houston Scholarship.
- Continuing or returning students must be in their second semester at the graduate level. In other words, they cannot be awarded scholarships if they are in their final semester.

How to apply
- Applicants must first submit their applications through the online University of Houston Victoria General Scholarship Application. Afterwards, they must submit their International student merit scholarship application.
- For admission, students must submit the following documents: Test Scores on the ACT or SAT and TSI Assessment, as well as their Home-School Transcripts (Academic results).
- To be admitted to the University of Houston, the student must meet at least two out of three of the following requirements. You must be ranked in the top 50% of your graduating class, you must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a scale of 4.0. Your SAT score must be or not exceed 940. Your ACT score must not exceed 18.
- To study at the University, international students must be proficient in English or meet any other language requirement.
Benefits of studying at the University of Houston
A successful applicant must receive between $3000-$10,000 for two semesters. In cases where the applicant is in a spring semester, the award will be given only for the spring and summer semesters.
