Benefits of the The British Academy International Fellowships:
- The International Fellowships provide support for three years and are funded at 80% FEC.
- Applicants may request up to £12,000 in research expenditures and £8,000 in relocation charges.
- Applicants must justify the degree of research and relocation expenditures sought in their application.
- After completing their Fellowship, applicants may be eligible for follow-on alum funding to support networking activities with UK-based or foreign academics.
Eligibility Criteria of British Academy International Fellowships
The candidate must:
- Applicants with a Ph.D. or in the latter stages of their Ph.D. will be admitted if their Ph.D. is completed (including viva) before the Fellowship’s start date. Before any Fellowship grant may be verified, the Ph.D. award must be confirmed.
- At the time of application, applicants should have at most seven years of active full-time postdoctoral experience (excluding career gaps but including teaching experience or time spent in industry).
- Work in a country other than the United Kingdom.
- Not be a British citizen.
- Be fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Agree on a research plan that is well-defined and mutually beneficial with a UK host researcher.
