About Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) – Overview of TCN
The main purpose of this Transmission Company of Nigeria’s 2020 recruitment exercise is to create more job opportunities for Nigerian youths both graduates and undergraduates. Doing this will reduce unemployment in Nigeria.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) was incorporated in November 2005. TCN came into being from the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) because of the merger of the Transmission and Operations sectors on April 1, 2004.
The company was issued transmission license on July 1st 2006. It’s among the 18 unbundled Business Units under the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). The specific TCN licensed activities include electricity trading which is ring-fenced, electricity transmission and system operation.

Interested applicants for the Transmission Company of Nigeria recruitment must possess any of the following listed;
- Possession of B.Sc, HND, NCE, OND in any discipline from a recognized institution
- West African School Certificate (WASC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects; or Candidates must have a National Examination Council (NECO)/General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including the English Language.)
- National Diploma (ND) obtained from a recognized institution. National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution; or General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) in two (2) subjects obtained at one sitting or three (3) subjects obtained at two sittings.
