Rochas college students protest – Amidst the heightened tension between the Governor Hope Uzodimma led-administration and therefore the former governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, students of the Rochas Okorocha Foundation College in Orji-Uratta this morning, Washington’s Birthday , staged a protest over the crisis between the statesmen.
Students from Rochas Foundation College in Owerri, Imo state has staged protest against the alleged persecution of their benefactor by the government.
Rochas Okorocha, a former governor of Imo state and a serving senator was arrested on Sunday after he broke into a seized property within the state.

The current governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma, had on Friday ordered the sealing of Royal Spring Palm Hotels and Apartments, which reportedly belongs to Okorocha’s wife.
Not long after forcefully gaining access into the property, police operatives arrived to escort Okorocha away.
As the scene unfolded, Okorocha’s aides clashed with those of governor Uzodinma, whom he has been hostile with for a few time.

Some of the aides of the previous governor were injured within the process and his vehicles were also damaged.
Okorocha had during a recorded audio interview played on Channels TV, accused Uzodinma of sending thugs to attack him.
He alleged that cops watched on as thugs cut his “boys” with machetes during the clash.
Last week, the Uzodinma administration also recovered and renamed the Eastern Palm University which was founded by Okorocha.
On Monday, the scholars from his foundation college stormed the streets of Owerri with placards, asking the government to go away Okorocha alone.
The protesting students were pictured carry placards with various inscriptions, appealing to the govt to not hurt ”their daddy”.

The incumbent governor has been hostile with the previous governor, which led to the eventual conversion of the eastern palm university, said to be owned by senator Okorocha to a government-owned institution.
Also, over the weekend, an estate belonging to the Okorochas was sealed by the government, resulting in the arrest of the Okorochas once they forcefully tried to realize access to the properties.
