Applications for Prince Clause Seed Awards 2023 program is now open for international students. The program aims to contribute to flourishing scenes worldwide, where emerging artists can develop their practice on their terms. Applicants, mainly cultural practitioners, and artists from the below listed eligible countries are welcome to apply.
Every year, 100 emerging awards are available for artists working in contexts to support their personal and artistic development. Each Seed Awardee will receive €5000 to invest in developing their artistic and cultural practice.

The awardee will receive an amount of 5,000 euros for their activity’s expansions.
Eligibility Criteria for the Prince Claus Seed Awards
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- You must be a national of an eligible country.
- The applicant must be in their initial stage of professional careers (1-5 years);
- Applicants should apply individually, and group vice and organizations are not eligible to apply.
- Seed awards are on a one-time-only basis; therefore, previous awardees from last year are not eligible to apply.
- The applicant should have an creative and exciting artistic experience that addresses a pressing social/political subject that is ever-present in their local context.
- They have not been recognized globally nor received other support for their artistic and cultural works.
- Ineligible applicants are those whose work:
- Revolves around academic research.
- Purely developmental and not cultural.
- Not societally engaged.
Required Materials
Applicants should submit the following documents to apply for the Prince Claus Seed Awards:
- Applicants should complete the application form with relevant details.
- Provide a document that proves applicants’ engagement in artistic and cultural activities such as text, video, audio, etc.
- A 3-minute video and audio formats pitch answering the question What drives the applicant as an artist, author, and cultural practitioner? If the applicant cannot provide a pitch in audio or video form, please email at awards@princeclausfund.nl.
- A signed recommendation letter from a person or organization who worked with the applicant.
- Update CV or another supporting document.
Note: Please note that all documents should be in English.

A team of experts will evaluate all applications and select 100 qualified applicants as award recipients based on the following points:

- Potential to amplify.
