About the Orange Knowledge Programme
The Orange Knowledge Program is a global program organized under the sponsorship of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is a capacity-building program. The program has had a positive impact on the economic and social development of society.
This is evident in the level of knowledge and skills acquired by professionals and organizations. Through education and collaboration with Dutch Global organizations, Orange Knowledge was able to achieve this movement. Orange Knowledge is active in 54 countries and has ongoing projects.

In addition, scholarships and training aim to improve the knowledge and skills of professionals, thereby enhancing their commitment to their fields. The Orange Knowledge Programme offers opportunities in fields related to themes of the Dutch Government including food and nutrition security. Water, energy and climate, sexual and reproductive health and rights and security, and the rule of law.
Each of these countries focuses on one or more of these themes when setting their agendas. In collaboration with the local embassy, a theme has been selected to determine which is appropriate for each country.
The Orange Knowledge Programme achieves this by focusing on the needs of the people at the grassroots level of each participating country.
The Orange Knowledge Programme has three defining themes in all participating countries: the development of the private sector, the inclusion of women and marginalized groups, and the environment.
The Orange Knowledge Programme has four types of funding known as instruments. These instruments include institutional collaboration projects, tailored group training, individual scholarships for mid-career professionals, and alumni activities that contribute to diplomatic relations and sustainable development by investing in local alumni.
Application deadlines vary. In the Netherlands, scholarships are awarded for short courses and master’s tracks. There is no record of the number of scholarships given and there are 53 countries eligible for the Orange program.

Applicants must be a professional and must be a national who is working and living in one of the eligible countries.
Applicant must not be employed by an organization that has defined staff development, such as bilateral donor organizations, multilateral donor organizations, and NGOs. Bilateral donor organizations, multilateral donor organizations, and NGOs.
How to apply for the Orange Knowledge Programme
- You can choose any IHS course or apply for any course.
- The applicant must submit a copy of their valid passport and NFP/OKP government statements that meet the requirements of the country in which employment will be established.
- Applicants must be proficient in and able to comprehend the language of the host university
