National Number

National Identity Number – The National number (NIN) may be a set of numbers assigned to a private upon successful enrolment. Enrolment consists of the recording of an individual’s demographic data and capture of the ten (10) fingerprints, head-to-shoulder facial picture and digital signature, which are all wont to cross-check existing data within the National Identity Database to verify that there’s no previous entry of an equivalent data.

Once this (de-duplication) process is completed the info is then stored with a singular NIN that was assigned thereto. The NIN once issued to an individual can’t be used again, (that is, it can’t be issued to a different person albeit the previous person is dead). It’s the NIN that helps to tie all records a few person within the database and is employed to see the identity verified.
