Jim Iyke is the stage name of Mr. James Ikechukwu Esomugha, who is a popular veteran Nigerian actor whose roles in many Nollywood movies have been controversial. One of his popular movies is Last Flight to Abuja where he acted alongside Omotola Jalade Ekeinde.
Childhood and Educational life
Born on 25 September 1976 in Libreville, Gabon to his parents, Mr and Mrs Stephen Okolue, his last name changed to Esomugha from ogwugwu village in Enugu Agidi town of Anambra State.
In a family of eight children, he is the only male child. His secondary school education was completed at F. G. C. Kwali Abuja from 1985 to 1991.
After his secondary school education, he went further to obtain diploma (Banking and Finance) and BSc (Philosophy) at the University of Jos, Plateau State.
Career Life
Jim Iyke started acting in the year, 2001. Presently in Nollywood, he is one of the highest paid actors with appearance in over 150 films. His love for movies made him to begin his own movie production company in the year 2007. He named it Untamed Productions.
His net worth is over 30 million Dollars.
Jim Iyke started his own music label, Untamed Records and produced his first album, titled “Who Am I?” which featured the likes of SoundSutan and TuFace Idibia.
His latest movies include; Dead Rite, The Set Up (2019), Merry Men 2- Another Mission (2019), Merry Men – The Real Yoruba Demons (2018), America Driver (2017), When Love Comes Around (2014), The Between Kings and Queens (2010),
Controversies over Jim Iyke
There was a time a rumor spread on how the Jim Iyke was delivered of an evil spirit at The Synagogue, Church of All Nations, led by Pastor T.B. Joshua. The video went viral depicting how the evil spirit confessed of being behind Jim Ike’s inability to get married. It led to many social media debates.
Life of a Philanthropist – Jim Iyke
As a philanthropist, he founded a popular children foundation known as Jim lyke Foundation for Children with Special Disabilities. He visited Kenya in December 2012 in support of the Make a Change Campaign, a charity project founded by Christopher Grey, and Jamaican dance hall artist Cécile.
Personal Life
