Applicants can further their Master’s degree at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). This scholarship’s primary aim is to support outstanding students and young professionals from developing countries to study environment, engineering, and management studies. Moreover, the program aims to helps participants to contribute to their nation’s development through their study.
About GWSC
Global Water and Sanitation Center (GWSC) is recently established at AIT with primary goal to expedite and support WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) strategy in Asia and beyond. GWSC enhances leveraging funding from governments, international financing institutions and other development partners.
Currently, the Center hosts global water and sanitation initiatives, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, such as Technical Assistance Hub (TA Hub), Improvement of the National Sanitation Dashboard (NSD), Development and scaling up of Integrated Municipal Information System (IMIS), and Women in Sanitation Enterprises Project (WISE).

Benefits of the GWSC Scholarships
The scholarship covers the following costs:
- Scholarships amount equivalent to 12 credits of tuition fee and 2 semester registration fees.
- Internships opportunity in GWSC or 40 GWSC partner institutes.
- Space and facilities for conducting research in GWSC.
- Research support allowances.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the GWSC Scholarships, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Applicants should be from developing South and Southeast Asia (Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal as priority)
- Have a cumulative GPA ≥3.5 in bachelor’s degree.
- Provide IELTS-Academic certificate with a score of 6.0 or AIT English Entry Test Score of 6.0.
- Short research proposal on improving sanitation, hygiene, and water supply, including data integration, gender, and climate change.
- Public sector employees will have an advantage.
