If you’re creating a business account to access a billboard account, we recommend you employ your work email address and your real name rather than your business name. Adding a replacement business profile while logged into a private account will create a linked account. You’ll be ready to log in to your business profile with an equivalent login info as your personal account.
Add a business profile to your Pinterest account
- Log into your personal Pinterest account (opens in a new window)
- Click the down arrow in the top-right corner to open your menu
- Click Add a free business account
- Click Get started
- Follow the prompts to create your business account:
- Click the edit icon to add your profile picture
- Enter your business name
- Add your website, if you have one
- Select your Country/region
- Select your Language
- Click Next
- Select one of the options from the drop-down menu for the focus of your business, then click Next
- Select what type of business you are, then click Next
- Select Yes or No if you do or don’t want to run ads or select I’m not sure yet
- Click Next
- Choose to Create a Pin, Grow your audience, Showcase your brand, or click the cancel icon to go to your Pinterest business profile
If you migrate a number of your boards, you will be taken on to your new business profile. If not, you’ll be prompted to create your first Pin.

Create a new business account
If you don’t want to possess your business account linked to your personal account, you’ll create a standalone business account. Keep in mind that you’ll have to sign in to your personal and business accounts separately.

- Click Add a free business account
- Click Get started
- Follow the prompts to create your business account:

If you mistakenly created a private account but need a business profile, you’ll add one so to the private account in order that you’ll access your personal and business profiles with a single login. Alternatively, if you created a personal account for business purposes and now have a lot of content that you’d like to migrate to a business profile, you can convert your personal account to a business one.
