Emeka Morocco dies at 60 – Afrobeat Mourns Ekpili Legend.. The Afrobeat music legend, Prince Emeka Maduka popularly known as Emeka Morocco is dead. News reaching us has it that the Afrobeat legend died at 60.
Chief Emeka Edward Maduka popularly known as Morocco Maduka is gone. He is literally the oldest Igbo performing musician alive and also an icon in Ekpili music, Chief Emeka Morocco Maduka.
Morocco Maduka started his music career only at the age of 14 and have grown to be a household name in Ekpili music.
Chief Emeka Morocco hails from Ukwulu Anambra State. During his music career, he produced over 120 albums to his credit.
As a father, he has 4 boys and 4 girls.
He has many fans all over the world to include: Europe, America, Africa, Australia, Asia and d world at large.
On 23rd October 2020, Morocco Maduka celebrated his 60th birthday live on stage in Awka with full aura of life in Thanksgiving to Almighty God.
He has always been grateful to God for surviving many challenges in life. Among his numerous tracks include: Akalaka, Enenebe Ejeoru, Ubanesse, Tribute to Oliver de Coque, Echi di ime, One mba Enwe Ilo.
Others are Egwu, Amara Onye bu onye, Prince Morocco, Emeka Morgan, Igno Star etc.

The Governor of the Anambra State Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Hon Ikem Mazeli stated that Morocco as he’s fondly called died today, 29th October 2020 in Anambra State.
Mr Mazeli said this… With heavy heart of sorrow, we, the entire Anambra State PMAN, announce the exit of a music legend, Dr Prince Morocco Maduka, Ozonweluibe. He passed on this afternoon, Thursday, October 29th, 2020. All other arrangements as regards his burial will be communicated to all of us later.”
With this death confirmation, the only surviving Igbo music legend is Mike Ejeagha.
