Curfew in Lagos – Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu Delcares Curfew for at least 24 hours. As a result of the
violent trend of #EndSARS protests, Governor Babaji Sanwo-Olu has imposed curfew in Lagos state for at least 24hours.
According to the governor, the EndSARS protest has degenerated into a crisis situation that needs urgent attention. Little wonder he says in quote:
“I have watched with shock how what began as a peaceful #EndSARS protest has degenerated into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society. Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella of these protests to unleash mayhem on our State.” “As a government that is alive to its responsibility and has shown a commitment to the movement #ENDSARS, we will not watch and allow anarchy in our dear state.” “therefore, I as the executive governor of Lagos State hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4 pm today, 20th October 2020. Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders, must be found on the streets.”

This situation has continued to attract various comments from Nigerians that Sanwo-Olu is doing this to prevent him from meeting the demands of the youths in Lagos State. Again, he may not want the peaceful protest to continue in Lagos State.That’s why he imposed curfew to prevent the youths from gathering.
Recall that accusations have been meted against him that he earlier sent hoodlums to disrupt the activities of the peaceful protesters.
