About Coe College Global Leadership

Coe College is a private liberal arts college in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Coe College was established in 1851 and is historically affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). The College is a member of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest and the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities.

It was founded by the Rev. Willston Jones as a School for Prophets. In 1874, the college was re-established as Coe College Institute and in 1881, after a private donation from T. M. Sinclair, it was officially known as Coe College. Coe College awards the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

More than 60 areas of study are offered at the College, and students are able to develop their majors under the guidance of graduate faculty members. 40% of Coe students double major and graduate in four years. All students are entitled to an internship, research, or off-campus study opportunity.

Coe’s Writer Center (CWC) has the largest undergraduate student-run writing centre in the nation, with over 60 undergraduates on staff. It has seven writing consultants directed by Robert L. Marrs, professor of rhetoric.

Coe College Eligibility Criteria

  • To apply, you must first fill out an  application for admission. Once you have been accepted, submit the Global Leadership Full-Tuition Scholarship Form.
  • Applicants must upload a resume to the application.
  • Applicants must submit original or certified copies of the following documents for admission to:
  • Upload of Secondary School Transcripts (mark sheets) translated into English with all courses or grades listed
  • Upload your WAEC, O’Level, ‘A’ Level, SLC, and WASSCE.
  • Upload any of the following score reports: SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS, DET.
  • Fill out and complete an  International Students Financial Statement and document all expenses that will be sufficient for your studies at Coe.
  • Upload any one of the following English Language Test Scores: TOEFL (68 iBT, 520 paper-based scores), IELTS (6.0, with no sub-score<5.5>, STEP Eiken score of grade 1 or above or PTE Academic Score of 59 or above.
