Twitter handle is the username associated with your account; the name that starts with an “@.” You can also find your username by looking at the URL of your Twitter account’s public profile; the handle is the latter portion of the URL, after the .com.
How Can I Change My Twitter Account Username
Twitter handles are not the same thing as your display name, because your Twitter display name is not a username. Your username/handle is essentially what makes your account unique. Lots of people on Twitter may have the same display name as you, but no one should have the same handle as you; it’s your unique identifier on this social networking website.
How to Change Your Twitter Username
There are two main methods you can use to change your Twitter username: using a computer, or using the Twitter mobile app. Which one you ultimately choose will probably depend on which device you plan to use to change your username.
When Using A Computer
Step1: Log in to your Twitter account via the desktop website.
Step2: Select your profile icon, which should be located in the top right side of your screen.
Step3: When a menu appears, select Settings and privacy.
Step4: Within the Account section, edit your handle in the Username text box located. Once you pick out a new handle, Twitter will check to make sure it’s unique to use. If someone else already has your new username, Twitter will ask you to pick another handle.
Step5: Once you’re satisfied with your new handle, select Save changes at the bottom of the screen.
Step6: A dialog box will pop up asking for your password to confirm the change you’re making. Input your password, then select Save changes.
When Using The Twitter Mobile App:
Note: The steps it takes to change your username using the Twitter mobile app are the same regardless of whether you’re using the iOS or Android version of the app.
Step1: Open the Twitter app on your iOS or Android device.
Step2: If you’re not logged in already, log in to your Twitter account.
